The plan
Fly HND. Base in Shinjuku or Shibuya for transit access. Day 1 rest day, Shinjuku Gyoen park picnic, Harajuku sweets. Day 2 Tokyo DisneySea — exclusive to Tokyo, best theme park on earth, go on a weekday. Day 3 Ueno Park: zoo, Science Museum, Senso-ji temple evening. Day 4 teamLab Planets (book weeks ahead) + Odaiba for the Toyota Megaweb and Gundam statue. Day 5 day trip to Kamakura or Hakone (volcano cable car, Owakudani sulfur valley). Day 6 Shibuya, Shinjuku Gyoen morning, Studio Ghibli Museum afternoon (book 2 months out). Day 7 fly home. Kids eat free or cheap almost everywhere; convenience stores are a godsend.
