Salt Lake City International Airport

Salt Lake City International Airport is a major hub for Delta Air Lines and the primary airport for the Mountain West. SLC handles around 28 million passengers per year and sits about four miles west of downtown Salt Lake City. Delta operates one of its largest hubs at SLC, with extensive domestic connecting service and a growing international network focused on Europe and Mexico. The airport's geographic position makes it a natural connecting point for Mountain West traffic, and the airline's Salt Lake hub has been a consistent performer. SLC recently completed a major reconstruction that opened in 2020, replacing the older facilities with a modern new terminal and two concourses connected by an underground passage. The redevelopment improved the passenger experience substantially and increased capacity for future growth. The airport's altitude of 4,227 feet above sea level requires longer takeoff rolls than lower-altitude airports, and SLC has runways designed to accommodate that requirement. The airport also handles significant cargo operations and is a major base for UPS and FedEx.
