Narita International Airport
Narita International Airport is one of the two major airports serving Tokyo, focused on international traffic. NRT handles around 27 million passengers per year and sits about 37 miles east of central Tokyo. The airport has two terminals (T1 and T2) plus a smaller T3 for low-cost carriers. Narita is a major hub for Japan Airlines and ANA, plus a hub for transpacific operations from North America to Asia. The airport handles most long-haul flights between Tokyo and North America, Europe, and Africa. Narita's role has been shifting over the last decade as Haneda has expanded its international operations, with some carriers moving long-haul flights from NRT to HND where the shorter journey to central Tokyo is preferred by passengers. Narita remains the primary airport for most non-Japanese long-haul carriers and for Japan's international cargo operations. The airport is connected to Tokyo by the Narita Express and Keisei Skyliner trains, both taking about 60 to 90 minutes to reach central Tokyo.
