What Aircraft Does Emirates Fly? A380, A350, and 777 Guide

Emirates operates an all-widebody scheduled passenger fleet. Its active passenger families are the Airbus A380, Airbus A350, and Boeing 777. That answer changed when the A350 entered service, so older two-type summaries are now incomplete.

Emirates' year-end fleet

Emirates reported a total fleet of 277 aircraft in its 2025–26 results. That company-wide aircraft total includes passenger aircraft and the dedicated Emirates SkyCargo freighter fleet.

At the reporting date:

• 19 Airbus A350s were in the fleet and flying to 21 destinations;
• Emirates SkyCargo operated 13 Boeing 777 freighters; and
• the remaining fleet was composed of A380 and Boeing 777 passenger aircraft.

The total should not be described as 277 passenger jets because the 13 freighters have no passenger cabin.

Airbus A380

The A380 remains one of the defining Emirates aircraft. It is a four-engine, double-deck widebody used on high-capacity routes. Emirates operates multiple cabin generations, and features such as Premium Economy depend on whether an aircraft has received the applicable interior.

The airline's retrofit program means two A380s on different flights may not present identical cabins. A model name alone cannot confirm the seat or product.

Boeing 777

The Boeing 777 has long been the other backbone of Emirates' network. The passenger fleet includes 777-200LR and 777-300ER aircraft, while SkyCargo operates the 777F freighter.

Emirates' fleet directory notes that it operates multiple 777 configurations. A passenger 777 and a 777F serve completely different purposes, and 777X aircraft in the order book are not current 777s in service.

Airbus A350

The A350 is now an active Emirates aircraft, not a future plan. Emirates received 15 during the 2025–26 financial year and had 19 at March 31.

The A350 cabin includes Business, Premium Economy, and Economy rather than the same product arrangement as every A380 or 777. Emirates can also deploy it on different routes as more aircraft arrive.

Orders are not operating aircraft

At March 31, Emirates reported an order book of 367 aircraft: 54 A350s, 270 777X aircraft, 35 787s, and eight 777Fs. Those are future commitments through 2038, not additions to the 277-aircraft operating total.

Order counts can change, delivery schedules can move, and a delivered aircraft may need preparation before commercial entry into service. A reliable fleet page keeps each stage separate.

How to check your flight

Review the aircraft subtype and seat map during booking, then check again near departure. Emirates warns that products vary by model and configuration and that operational changes can cause substitutions.

The current short answer is an all-widebody passenger fleet of A380s, A350s, and Boeing 777s, plus a separately identified 777F cargo fleet. The A350 is active; ordered 777Xs and 787s are future aircraft.
