Newark Liberty International Airport

Newark Liberty International Airport is one of three major airports serving the New York City metropolitan area and a major hub for United Airlines. EWR handles around 46 million passengers per year. The airport sits about 16 miles southwest of Midtown Manhattan, across the Hudson River in New Jersey, and serves the Newark metropolitan area directly plus functioning as an alternative New York City gateway. United operates its largest hub at EWR, with extensive transatlantic, transpacific, and Latin American service. The airport's Terminal A and Terminal C are United's primary facilities, while Terminal B handles most other domestic and international carriers. EWR has been undergoing a multi-year redevelopment that replaced the older Terminal A with a new building in 2022. The airport's location gives it good access to the tri-state region via multiple highways and a rail connection. EWR is often chosen by travelers heading to northern New Jersey or western Connecticut who want to avoid the traffic around JFK or LaGuardia.
