City population game
Population games turn city size into something you can feel: draw around people on a map, compare cities by scale, or build a blackjack hand from real city populations.
By the FlightQ team — we build and play these games daily. Updated June 2026.
FlightQ's city population games are Headcount, a daily map-drawing puzzle based on real population grids, and Geo Blackjack, a city-card game where players try to reach 21 million people without busting.
Geo Blackjack makes city size risky
Every hit gives you city cards and a population total. Knowing which cities are huge, mid-sized, or safer small draws changes the odds.
Headcount is the map version
Headcount asks you to draw one loop around a target number of people. It trains population density, megaregions, sparse interiors, and coastal clustering.
Better than memorizing rankings
The games teach scale through decisions. Lagos, Chengdu, Lima, and Zurich are not just facts on a list; they become different kinds of risk.
